Coms Maritime Trainers & Assessors -  (ABN 143 681 099 50) is an authorised nominated representative of Maritime Training School (ABN 651 212 574 03) RTO number 91487 and is approved by NSW Maritime to provide practical boat training and/or knowledge testing for the NSW general boat driving licence and PWC driving licence.

Vision

This community based self-funded college was conceived with the purposes in mind of giving back to the community, and to provide opportunities for people of all ages to gain skills for the locally, national and global marine industry.

The vision is to use existing infrastructure (the former Fins Restaurant premises) converted into classrooms while manufacturing would take place in neighbouring industrial estates. The marina and slipway facilities are integral to the college.

The college aims to:
• Improve the harbour
• Allow low key development of the Fishing Co-op
• Support the boat building training industry, the boat industry and the sailing club

About

The College of Marine Studies Inc. will be a non-profit community inspired college of excellence in the marine industry, engaging local people and those whose needs and visions can help achieve a sustainable relationship between land, sea, and wildlife.

The College will breathe new life into the currently under utilised resources in Brunswick Heads, namely the slipway, marina and old Finns Restaurant Building.

The Marine College would retain the maritime activities associated with Brunswick Heads boat harbour and provide a future for boat building and related skills training for the fourth largest export industry, boating.
